“A concise overview of various types of jewelry and small functional objects, from the Upper Paleolithic period to the present day. The course on the history of jewelry is based on the evolution and interplay of shapes and forms, exploring similarities, shared origins, differences, and contrasts among major cultures around the world. We will examine the sources of the fundamental forms that dominated the distant past and continue to play a leading role today, while evaluating their sculptural and aesthetic values as well as the techniques used in their creation. This course is a personal anthology of forms from the perspective of the artist and narrator Dimitris Nikolaidis
