Since antiquity, jewelry has always been closely connected with sculpture. This seminar is an introduction to micro-sculpture and to the lost-wax method, also known as cast jewelry.
Participants will learn various goldsmithing techniques using special hard waxes. They will discover how a relatively soft material, wax, can be shaped into a three-dimensional object—jewelry—which is later transformed into metal.
The seminar program includes the creation of a bead–ribbon developed in space, a ring form, articulated earrings with special settings (bezels) for placing stones, and relief surfaces. Finally, guidance and advice will be given on the finishing of the cast objects.

The two-month seminar will take place from May 10 to June 28, 2014, at the Anamma workshop.
